speed datingHave you ever wondered if speed dating really works? I have. In a typical speed dating scenario, there is a group of tables and an even number of males and females. They spend about three minutes or less meeting each other and asking questions and going over things during their short speed dating session, before moving on to the next table.

Each person keeps a tab and notes on the members that they liked the most. When the speed dating sessions are over, they x-out most of the people and wheedle it down to just a few. Then they start all over again until they have found a person or two that they wish to go out on a date with.

Okay – but rubbish. How can three minutes really help you to identify if you like a person or not? I could never go out on a date with somebody after only knowing them for less than ten minutes. So for me, speed dating makes no sense. Yet for some, it’s wonderful. Go figure, right? Still, if it works, then more power to you!
